This CD-ROM provides an introduction to the various ways biologists interpret living diversity.

It describes the two main classification schemes currently used along with coverage of the main events occurring after the earth was formed. The series also includes a variety of tools and utilities for use in the support of teaching and learning.

These tools are available free of charge to any institution or individual taking out a subscription to the complete series.

The "Scrapbook" tool facility enables students to assemble and edit their own range of material within a framework of media resources and headings provided by the teacher. "Examine" is a multiple choice question and answer facility, which includes several already compiled quizzes on Biodiversity.

In addition it provides the means for tutors to set up their own quizzes from the available questions, to modify questions or add to their own questions.

The "Knowledge Tree" is an interactive question-asking and answering system for networks.

It builds up into a knowledge base of frequently asked questions and their answers. This multimedia library should be useful for those who are concerned with the study of life diversity and the natural world.
