This was Anne Bronte's second and last novel published in 1848, a year before she died at he age of 29.

Helen Graham, aloof and thought to be recently widowed moves into the half-ruined Wildfell Hall with her five year old son.

She meets and falls in love with the young Squire Gilbert Markham.

However, their passion is held in check by Helen's mysterious relationship with the handsome but cruel Arthur Huntingdon, modelled on Anne Bronte's alcoholic brother, Branwell.

Tara Fitzgerald and Rupert Graves starred in the popular BBC TV production in 1996 which was repeated in 2003.

Carole Boyd is possibly the most experienced reader of audio books in England with numerous unabridged readings to her credit.

David Rintoul is probably best known for his performance as Dr. Finlay on television, but he has also appeared in countless radio and television productions.
