Written by Christopher Brosius, founder of Demeter Fragrance Library, this book will explore the intersection between scent, science and psychology, in an attempt to unravel the mystery surrounding our most neglected sense.The topics covered include: How do we recognize smells?

How do we store memories of scents? Why do we find some smells appealing and others not?

How do we explain why scents are closely linked to emotions?

The book will also examine the ways that scent fits into people's lives.

Brosius uses a combination of scientific research and engaging anecdotal information to make the text lively and easily accessible to even the science-impaired.The scents included will be printed on microencapsulated stickers, applied to individual cards, and packaged within a pocket in the front and back endsheet of the book.

Each scent card will include a name, color, and the scent. The scent illustrations will be referred to throughout the book to demonstrate particular points and the easy accessibility of the cards will enable the reader to pick and choose cards as they read along.
