The geography of soil

This book, first published in 1965, was the first by a British soil expert in which he wrote a study of his subject from a geographical, not an agricultural or biological, viewpoint.

Chapters 1-8 deal with the factors and processes in soil formation.

Chapters 9-17 describe the soil groups of the different regions of the world – for example, desert and tundra, the boreal zone, the Mediterranean, and intertropical areas.
