Catherine Chambers completed a degree in Swahili and African History at the University of London. She spent four years living in Zaire, Northern Nigeria, and has written over 40 educational books for various publishers. Caroline Mockford gained a degree in fine art from Norwich School of Art before completing a teacher training course at Goldsmith's College, London. She went on to work as an art teacher and infant-school teacher. She is the author and illustrator of "What's This?" and "Cleo the Cat", both published by Barefoot Books.
