This title takes a look at the objects found in excavations of Roman villas and describes what we know about ancient Roman life from them.

Objects found include keys, skillets, lyres, puppets and mosaics - giving an insight into how the rich lived.This title can be used to support the Key Stage 2 (7-11 year olds) History National Curriculum where Roman settlement, including their villas, is an area of study.

The approach of looking at history through objects is a way for children to develop their skills of historical enquiry by using a range of sources, such as artefacts and paintings, to find out about the past.
