Navy submarines : overview of Virginia & Ohio Class programs

The U.S. Navy operates three types of submarines- nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs), nuclear-powered cruise missile and special operations forces (SOF) submarines (SSGNs), and nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSNs).
