Deng Shiru (1743-1805), originally named Yan, with the word Shiru, to avoid the taboo of Emperor Jiaqing, and later changed the word to Wan Bo, called Wan Bai Shan Ren, and was born in Huaining, Anhui.

He is good at seal script, taking Li Si of the Qin Dynasty and Li Yangbing of the Tang Dynasty as his sects, and his work is called Shenpin with a little reference to the official script. The Story of Bai's Cottage was written by Deng Shiru when he was 62 years old, and is his masterpiece of seal script.

The work is magnificent, ups and downs, graceful, natural and elegant.

The font is handsome and rigorous, the brush is unbridled, round and solemn.

This screen is about 200 centimeters high and is now collected in Japan.
