In this bookothe second volume of his study of South AfricaoSteven Debroey pays special attention to race relations, without losing sight of the historical context.

On the basis of concrete, irrefutable data, the author sketches and analyzes the repulsive apartheid system, which was institutionalized after the political take-over of the Afrikaner Nationalists in 1948, and has been enforced by violence.

He describes the coming into existence of the African National Congress (ANC), the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) and other resistance movements; how, for half a century, the ANC fought in vain for the rights of the oppressed by peaceful means and the circumstances that have made the ANC respond to violence with violence.

Debroey devoted eleven years of his life to this study.

During 14 study tours, he travelled all over South Africa and witnessed the fatal consequences of an ideology that is rightly denounced throughout the world.

As he was greatly concerned about the reliability of his data, he had his manuscript checked by a South African historian.

Anyone who reads this book without bias or prejudice will be able to pronounce a sound judgement on the present situation in South Africa.
