The Civil Procedure Rules embodying the recommendations of the Woolf Report came into force on 1 May 1999.

Under the new rules, the High Court and county courts are for the first time governed by the same set of Rules and Orders.

This handbook covers the procedures used in the civil courts from commencement of action through to judgement.

It contains precedents, checklists and examples of the new forms.

The old rules run alongside the new rules for a period of 18 months , and for this reason, a copy of Tolley's County Court Practice and Procedure (6th edtion), which covers the old rules, is included in the price.
