Neonatal Intensive Care : Access to and Availability of Specialist Services

There has been much concern in recent years, both among professional bodies and Government, about the adequacy of health service provision for newborn infants requiring intensive care to survive.

Recent reports have suggested that the service might be adversely affected by NHS reforms.

This report examines current provision and makes recommendations on how neonatal intensive care services should develop in the future.
