She considered making the story about herself. Then, thinking of her brother Denny, she decided it would be about him and the stuffed elephant named Eleanor. Denny might be upset with a story that depicted him as a kid in love with a stuffed animal, so the boy had to be named Danny. And so, Regan's story of Danny and Eleanor the Elephant replete with her images, was born. After a lot of work to write and illustrate the story herself, the story was created, the pages bound together and the book turned in. But there was one more part of the assignment. Regan and her classmates had to read their story to kindergarten classes. How embarrassing! When the day came, the kindergartners and their teachers loved Regan's story best of all and asked for an encore reading!!! Eleanor and Danny were a hit! And Regan was a star! But that wasn't the end. The grandparents wanted to see the book and listen to Regan read the story. And they were emphatic that the book must be published! So, another facet of Regan's story was created. Regan wondered if this "school assignment" would ever end! Her parents and grandparents hope not and want and can't wait for the second book!! More horror!
