"Trading Places" is a visual collection of traditional European shops that offers a nostalgic look at a different world of service and quality that is becoming increasingly hard to find.

The book is punctuated with stories and anecdotes from shopkeepers and customers - it's the characters behind the shopfronts that make them what they are.Each chapter looks at a different type of shop, from delicatessens and wine merchants, through specialist paper and book shops to haberdashers with their buttons and ribbons and the buckets and mops of the hardware store.
