Expert Systems in Information Technology

Currently, Expert Systems (SE) can be considered as a subset of Artificial Intelligence.

An Expert System is a system that uses human knowledge captured in a computer to solve problems that would normally be solved by human experts.

Well-designed systems mimic the reasoning process that experts use to solve specific problems.

These systems can perform better than any human expert in making individual decisions in certain domains and can be used by non-expert humans to improve their problem-solving skills.
