The global "Safe Motherhood Initiative", supported by UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, World Bank, WHO, IPPF, The Population Council and Family Care International aims to turn the tide through setting up safe motherhood community health projects in developing countries.

This manual, prepared in the style of the author's successful Partners in Evaluation, shows how to set up and run such projects.

The author is involved in planning the initiative and the market will be the agencies which support it, the staff of the community health projects set up and students of maternal and child health.
