A Clinical Introduction to Lacanian Psychoanalysis : Theory and Technique

This is an introduction to Jacques Lacan's approach to therapy, from the point of view of a practitioner faced with the question of diagnosis.

How it is done and how it differs from other forms of therapy is examined, and many of his theoretical notions are explored.

At each point of the treatment the analyst's aims and interventions are explained, and four case studies are used to illustrate Lacan's structural approach to diagnosis.

These cases take up both theoretical and clinical issues in Lacan's views of psychosis, perversion, and neurosis, and highlight the very different approaches to treatment that different situations demand.
