Oddingley Murders

See all formats and editions

This book is an account of two murders that occurred in 1806 in a rural parish in Worcestershire, England.

The first victim was a clergyman who quarreled with his parishioners because they objected to his collection of his tithe in kind; the second homicide was linked to the first.

Most of the documents relating to the murders have survived, and added to the journalistic accounts, The Oddingley Murders is a detailed reconstruction of the crimes.
