Texts for sharing4

This collection of illustrated text extracts has been selected especially to introduce junior age children to a wide range of text types. "Texts for Sharing: Big Book 4" is appropriate for 10-11 year olds and includes autobiography, diaries, a range of poetic forms, discussion texts, formal writing; journalistic writing, and works by significant children's poets, some on the same theme or by the same poet, for comparison.Teaching ideas by literacy consultant Julie Carr are included, which offer ideas for using the texts in shared and group sessions, and as stimuli for children's own writing.
