Novelist's Biography:Frances Hodgson Burnett was a British-American author born on November 24, 1849, in Manchester, England.

She is best known for her children's novels, including "e;Little Lord Fauntleroy,"e; "e;A Little Princess,"e; and "e;The Secret Garden."e;Burnett was the third of five children, and her family moved to the United States when she was 16 years old.

She began writing to support her family after her father's death, and her first published work was a story in "e;Godey's Lady's Book"e; in 1868. She gained fame with the publication of "e;Little Lord Fauntleroy"e; in 1886, which was a huge success in both the United States and England.

The novel was followed by "e;A Little Princess"e; in 1905 and "e;The Secret Garden"e; in 1911, both of which have become beloved classics of children's literature. In addition to her children's books, Burnett also wrote numerous novels and plays for adults.

She died on October 29, 1924, in Plandome, New York, leaving behind a legacy of inspiring stories that continue to captivate readers of all ages. Synopsis:"e;A Little Princess"e; is a children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, first published in 1905.
