Greek by Heritage, Italian by Heart merges the best of two cultures that have revered good food and wine for centuries.

More than just another cookbook, this collection of recipes and stories represent the culinary history of Marcia Georges, owner of the iconic award-winning Il Centro restaurant in Brisbane.

Part recipe book, part biography, Greek by Heritage, Italian by Heart is a beautifully presented feast for the eyes, belly and soul with recipes that are traditional, modern and retro.As the youngest daughter of a first generation Greek cook and cafe owner, Marcia's earliest years were shaped by sharing traditional food and good times with friends and family around the dining table.

Later in life she travelled and studied in Italy and, with her husband, opened Il Centro.

When their son died of bowel cancer at the age of 37, Marcia decided to write a book to raise funds for research into finding a cure for this disease.

Greek by Heritage, Italian by Heart is the result of celebrating what matters most in life: good food, friends and family.

A percentage of all proceeds will go to bowel cancer research.
