Government response to the Intelligence and Security Committee's report into the London terrorist attacks on 7 July 2005

This publication, "Government Response to the Intelligence and Security Committee's Report into the London Terrorist Attacks on 7 July 2005 (Cm. 6786)", sets out the Government's response to the Committee's report (Cm. 6785 - ISBN 0101678525, available below) on intelligence and security matters relating to the terrorist attacks in London on 7 July 2005, which resulted in the deaths of 52 people and hundreds injured.

It focuses on three issues: whether any intelligence was missed or overlooked which might have helped prevent the attacks; why the threat level to the UK was lowered prior to the attacks and what impact this had; and the lessons that can be learned from the attacks, particularly in relation to reassessments of the terrorist threat and what is being done to increase coverage of this threat.
