Public Expenditure on Health and Personal Social Services : Memorandum Received from the Department of Health Containing Replies to a Written Questionnaire from the Committee

This report presents replies from the Department of Health to the Health Committee's 2001 questionnaire regarding public expenditure on health and personal social services (PSS).

The report is subdivided to present expenditure and cost-effectiveness data on the NHS and PSS overall, as well as information covering: public health; NHS resources and activities, such as community health services, capital projects and the operation of the Private Finance Initiative, primary care, waiting lists and times; PSS standard spending assessments, social care for children and community care.
