This Bill contains proposals to reform the licensing and regulation of the National Lottery and the way money is distributed between the good causes.

The provisions will extend to the whole of the UK and include: i) the setting up of a new distributor, to be called the Big Lottery Fund, to assume the functions of the National Lottery Charities Board (also known as the Communities Fund) and the New Opportunities Fund (both of which will be abolished) and the Millennium Commission (to be wound up); and ii) the establishment of a new good cause to reflect the functions of the Big Lottery Fund.
