Governing the rural in interwar Europe

This edited volume addresses the interwar articulation of policies and practices to remodel rural societies against the backdrop of economic turmoil, political polarization and social unrest.

It also examines the implementation of these policies 'on the ground,' their intended and unintended consequences, and the interaction between policymakers, experts, and rural communities.
