Becky Archer is missing. The police believe she's a runaway. Victor Rourke knows better. He knows she was kidnapped because it was he who answered her phone call in the middle of the night. She screamed out for help until the line went dead. Victor finds himself in a unique position. He happens to be a part-time private investigator and a full-time alcoholic, as well as Becky's estranged father.

Once upon a time, Victor was a hero cop. A star on the force. He had a wonderful home and a loving wife. That time in his life is over. His world effectively ruined by his own selfishness and long-term infidelity. He now wastes away in a run-down studio apartment, punishing himself for his past misdeeds, hoping his demons will leave him to die in peace, but they never will.

Seeking redemption, he searches for his daughter throughout a small town in rural North Carolina. The clues lead him down a dark and disturbing path. Believing Becky was kidnapped by a religious cult leader who dabbles in sex slavery, Victor brazenly infiltrates the organization. Soon he finds himself on a depraved journey through the second circle of hell, and before it's all over he'll come face to face with the devil himself.

Beyond Good and Evil is about more than a man searching for his missing daughter. It's about redemption, religious hypocrisy, and a lone man coming to recognize society's mistreatment and objectification of women. It's a complex character study about heroes that are not inherently "good", and villains that are not entirely "evil".
