Passenger Falls from Train Doors : Report

Passenger falls from the doors of British Rail trains have been the source of increasing public concern over recent years.

During that period, in the absence of a definitive answer to the questions raised, speculation in the media about the possible causes of these incidents has led to even wider debate about the matter.

This report describes the investigation conducted during 1991/92 by the Health and Safety Executive and makes a recommendation for action by the British Railways Board to reduce the risk of falls from train doors.
