While a great deal has been written on the topic of behavioural treatment for delinquent adolescents, little has been written on policy and management in this field.

This is important because whilst much behaviourally-orientated treatment may be taking place, practitioners then meet obstacles at a system or policy level.

The authors concentrate on the neglected issues of organizing and managing the delivery of the behavioural programme to maximum effect. Organizational structure, policy-making, clarity in identifying institutional and professional needs as opposed to client needs, staff training and evaluative research are all covered.
