The word Philosophy is derived from "Philosophia" which is the Ancient Greek word for the "love of wisdom". ... Philosophy is a way of thinking about the world, the universe, and society.

Most of the rules and moral and ethical concepts that are part of the fundamental formation of Western Societies today, have their origin more than 2000 years ago and are based on the teachings of people such as Socrates, Plato and others. As our societies evolved from the early hunter gatherers, through the agricultural and industrial revolutions and the emergence of the communication explosion, so these concepts have been adapted and refined.

I was first introduced to philosophy in 2016 when I attended a community-based programme for Seniors that was led by a retired University Lecturer. She presented Philosophy to the attendees in such a way that, although the principles and language of the discipline were introduced and discussed, they were delivered in everyday language that was readily understood by all. This experience inspired me to commence Post Graduate studies in Philosophy at the Fremantle Campus of the University of Notre Dame Australia in 2017, and over the following 4 years or so, I realised that Philosophy is so much more than just an "academic exercise". This book contains the Essays and Theses that I wrote over that period.
