Hand in Hand with Tommy

A Jewish woman, young wife, and mother of a small boy, Hilde Huppert found herself trapped in Czechoslovakia in the nightmare of the Holocaust.

While her husband waited for her in Palestine, Hilde and her son Tommy were imprisoned, confined to a ghetto and finally transferred to Bergen-Belsen where they fought to stay alive.

Throughout their ordeal, Hilde never let go of her son, keeping him close by, and together, hand in hand, they survived.
