This book focuses on North Leigh Roman villa, on the south-east margin of the Cotswolds.

Two centuries of archaeological study have shown it to have been one of the largest and wealthiest Roman villas in the area.

It was in use for more than three centuries, and included luxury mosaics, centrally-heated rooms and bath houses.
