Iarc Biennial Report 1998-1999 : Biennial Report 1998-1999

This is a report on the research projects and other activities conducted by the WHO International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) during the 1998-1999 biennium.

In keeping with the Agency's objectives, the report serves to illustrate the diversity of epidemiological and experimental studies now being used to improve knowledge about the causes of cancer and the possibilities for prevention.

The report also provides a reference to specific areas where international co-operation, whether through the sharing of standardized methodologies or the conduct of large-scale collaborative studies, is opening the way to more efficient cancer prevention.
