French comedy drama written and directed by Olivier Assayas.
In an attempt to rejuvenate his flagging career, a French director decides to remake 'Les Vampires', a classic silent adventure film.
Looking to make the film a success he casts actress Maggie (Maggie Cheung) as Irma, the heroine of the piece.
However, Maggie soon finds it difficult to cope with the eccentric director's behaviour, as well as the romantic attentions of her wardrobe mistress.
In a haze of confusion and jet lag, Maggie starts taking on the wicked character of Irma Vep as she journeys into the Parisian night in search of crime.
