This book is comprised of seven chapters pertaining to chemistry research.

Chapter One discusses the role selenium has on both the environment and human health.

The study done in Chapter Two demonstrates the structure and function of luteolin and its complexation with others and also highlights an extensive overview on the pharmacological benefits of luteolin in disease management In Chapter Three the authors aim to underscore the potential of isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) as a suitable experimental technique in exploring the true interaction parameters as well as the accompanying thermodynamic landscape which in turn enable an in-depth understanding of the interaction forces underlying the binding phenomenon.

Chapter Four examines the effect of L- and D-AscA on the physico-mechanical, morphological and sorption properties and wound healing activity of thin-film sol-gel plates based on chitosan L- or D-ascorbate with Aloe Vera juice added.

Chapter Five goes on to discuss the different sustainable ways of preparing metal-based nanoparticles, their characterization, properties, and applications in various fields.

The authors examine quantum chemical investigations on the BPPMHPC molecule in Chapter Six where they utilized DFT calculation with B3LYP and Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory (TD-DFT) to enhance the accuracy of their findings.

The last chapter is dedicated to reviewing the work found in literature combining both branches, as well as commenting on possible future avenues for this nascent field.
