Lord Jim

Originally intended to be a short story, but then enlarged to a novel, Lord Jim is partly based on true events that occurred in 1880 abroad the steamer ship Jeddah when its British captain and his crew abandoned it as the ship started to leakLord Jim explores the dilemmas of conscience, of moral isolation, of loyalty and betrayal confronting a sensitive individual whose romantic quest for an honourable ideal are tested to the limit.
