Dina must once again practise her dangerous, powerful gift - the ability to make people confess their crimes simply by looking into their eyes - to help save her mother's life and, ultimately, her own.

It's also the story of Dina's older brother, Davin, whose conscience is troubled by his mother and sister's power.

He wants to avenge the crimes committed against his family with a battle by the sword.
