Universe 4.0 - CD-Rom

This CD-ROM contains the entire text of Kaufmann's "Universe" (4th ed).

It features: new visuals, including additional versions of pictures from the text and up-to-date images on cutting-edge topics; 25 computer animations of cosmological phenomena; and 10 supercomputer simulations demonstrating complex concepts. This CD-ROM demonstrates the latest in scientific exploration.

For instance, the user can see the newly corrected Hubble Space telescope train its eye on a black hole or follow the collision of a comet with Jupiter.

There is a built-in Presentation Manager, so that it is possible to orchestrate a play list of images for lecture or study. This disc is compatible with both Macintosh and IBM-compatible systems.

Minimum system requirements for Macintosh are: 68030 processor (or better) running system 7.0 or above; 4 MB RAM (8MB recommended); CD-ROM drive (double-speed recommended, such as Apple CD 300); colour monitor displaying 8-bit (256 colours) at 640 x 480 resolution. The minimum system requirements for IBM-compatible systems are: 386sx processor (or better) running Microsoft Windows 3.1; 8 MB RAM; CD-ROM drive (double-speed recommended) and MSCDEX 2.0 or later; super VGA monitor with 512K video RAM.
