Visiting to a Gurdwara is an excellent introduction to the Sikh religion.

Key Sikh beliefs, that all people are equal before the one God and that it is every Sikhi's duty to serve others, are explored through practices at the gurdwara. Children find out about the Guru Granth Sahib and how Sikhs respect it as their teacher. They learn how the Sikh religion began, how Sikhs wear a kind of uniform, what some Sikh symbols mean, and how sharing food brings people together. Start-Up Religion is a series of first RE books for pupils at Key Stage One, developed specifically to support units in the RE Schemes of Work.
