Environmental Education and the School Curriculum

This Viewpoint summarises the origins and goals of Environmental Education and the spaces is occupies in the curriculum of (mainly) English schools.

EE is distinguished from 'environmentalism' and links between EE and other 'adjectival' educations are discussed, including moral education.

As we shall see, EE is a relatively young, dynamic and very complex field, addressing matters that themselves often defy human understanding.

It perhaps comes no surprise therefore that its curriculum status is ambiguous.
