This is the 2006 edition of the definitive guide to all the rock climbs in the Lancashire area.

It contains details of 3,200 routes from Diff to E8, covering everything from the dark and mysteriously charming quarries in the south, where steep walls and foreboding atmospheres have long gained the routes a reputation for character and challenge, to the limestone crags in the north of the county, which provide a good contrast with their fresh, open steepness.

This volume is essentially a reprint of the 1999 edition with a few minor changes.

The Whitbarrow and Furness areas have been taken under the more logical wing of the Fell & Rock Climbing Club for their Lakeland guides, and the Standedge area appears in the BMC Moorland Grit guide.

These changes have allowed the BMC to produce a smaller and more compact guidebook.
