Chicken Doesn't Skate (Novel Study)

The Chicken Doesn't Skate is a coming of age story surrounding a group of students, a hockey team, and a chicken.

Milo's science fair project, entitled "The Complete Cycle of a Link in the Food Chain," follows the life cycle of a chicken named Henrietta.

All the children take turns looking after the chicken.

When it's Zachary's turn, the chicken escapes and finds herself at the hockey arena.

The hockey team, the Rangers, win their first game and keep Henrietta as their mascot.

When it's time for Henrietta to complete her cycle, the children must find a way to keep her out of the frying pan.
