This book explores over one-hundred major (and some not so major!) streets in central Newcastle upon Tyne. As well as information about likely origins of street names, there are descriptions of events that took place nearby. Generously illustrated with photographs from Newcastle City Library's Local Studies Collection, some of which have never been published before, each section of the book is arranged so that it can be used as a guide for city walks.
