This unusual work connects aspects of Ireland's history with bigger story of continental Europe.It is the story of Nora Buckley, a servant from West Cork, who becomes a dancer on the stage of the Folies Bergere in Paris in the years after the First World War, and alongside it, an author searching for her story in present day Paris.
