This is Alan MacGillivray's fifth collection of verse, bringing together poems written since his previous book, 'An Altitude Within'.

It includes the poetic sequence, 'Eye to the Future', arising out of the Scottish Independence Referendum of 2014.

The title, 'Redomones', refers to the half-broken wild horses owned and ridden by the Argentine gauchos of the pampas, and also by the Scottish writer, politician and traveller, Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham, to whose memory and achievements this book is respectfully dedicated.

Perhaps the word 'redomones' can be seen as a metaphor for the kind of poetry the author would like to see more of - verse subject to a degree of control, but remaining essentially untamed.
