When Jesus Is the Guru : A Wayward Christian's Spiritual Walk

My travels, recorded in a journal, unfold a tantalizing, mystical journey.

Whether I was walking through a wall or within, traveling miles in states of heightened awareness, these were easy feats.

But it was not easy to plumb the depths of total despair in my quest, as I had no control over my journey.

I did not organize the itinerary on this walk. A spiritual walk is a wondrous and adventurous journey, but it can also be difficult and devastating.

I share many of the pitfalls that mystic travelers may encounter along the way.

Unhappily, I could not find anyone from whom to seek advice or guidance during this time.At the time, there was no one to talk with about the events that overtook my life.

Therefore, untutored in pursuing a religious quest, I bought a little black book and, with pen in hand, talked on its pages.

The little black book became my little friend, counselor, and closest companion on my walk.

Sharing secrets, carrying burdens, and staining the pages with heartfelt tears, my journal - the little black book - gives an intimate account of my experiences.

Recounted are my many experiences: from Lourdes, France, to Nepal, to India, culminating in the Andes.

With each step of the journey, I describe the meditation methods in which Jesus Christ guided me.My journey presents a layperson's spiritual experiences in understandable terms.

When Jesus Is the Guru offers a guide to show that mystical experiences and realizations do occur and discusses them in a Christian framework.

It outlines for the lay Christian community a path that Christians might choose to reconnect with their Christian roots and learn how to relate to Jesus' personal humanity; it may also inspire those who thirst spiritually.My Christian spiritual journey is compared with Eastern paths. Finally, included (not in the original manuscript) is a review of the Spiritual Heart Center and the Christ Centered Prayer Meditation that Jesus Christ said, "This generation is ready."
