Tawai - A Voice from the Forest

Documentary in which explorer Bruce Parry travels the globe to visit indigenous cultures and explore humanity's changing relationship with the natural world.

The former Royal Marine traverses the jungles of Borneo to visit the Penan people of Ba' Puak, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer societies, to learn about their practices as well as the increasing threat they face from multinational corporations seeking riches from their land.

He also undertakes similar travels to see the indigenous Pirahã people in the Amazon rainforest before travelling to India to witness the Kumbh Mela ritual.
