The seventh edition of this textbook, to which Dr John Ward-Smith contributes for the first time, presents the basic principles of the mechanics of fluids.

It includes the material on this subject which is needed for an honours-degree course in civil or mechanical engineering, in addition to providing relevant material for undergraduate courses in aeronautical and chemical engineering.
