The contents of this volume of "Artifice" include a study of human rights abuses in the Kosovo region of Albania by photojournalist Melanie Friend; an essay on "Monstrosity Today" by writer and architect Mark Dorrian; a review of prize-winning architectural drawing from the Bartlett School of Architecture and an introduction to the work of Witness, the New York based Lawyers Committee for Human Rights. The accompanying CD-ROM includes: fonts by ACME; a multimedia piece by artists Jon Thompson and Alie Craighead; "Korridor", an interactive documentation of a recent installation at Jonkopings Lans Museum, Sweden by artists Mike Bode and Raima Drasutyte; and "Derives" and interactive situationist mapping of contemporary Paris by Fiona Meadows and Fred Nantois. A further audio CD-ROM provides tracks by sound artist Scanner; "He Said He Cared" by Possible Music; "Moon on My Screen" by Dromed; and "Le Chariot" excerpts from the ballet, "Non ho tempo e serve tempo" by Philippe Cam.
