Rangers Football Club is the most decorated football club in the world.

They have amassed a record breaking 54 league titles in their 142-year history and are one of the biggest names in the football community. However, that reputation meant nothing when the club lurked on the edge of financial disaster in 2012.

An array of money troubles saw the club go bust and as part of their punishment, Rangers were demoted to the fourth tier of Scottish football and many players left Ibrox, leaving the club in limbo.

However, not everybody headed for the exit. One of the few who remained was boyhood Rangers fan and servant of the club since 2007 - Lee McCulloch.

As the club's demise became perilous, McCulloch made it clear from the start that he would be going nowhere, earning himself cult hero status on the terraces.

McCulloch, known as 'JiggyMac' to the fans, scored Rangers' first goal in their new look guise against Brechin City in the Scottish Challenge Cup and was awarded the captaincy of the club several weeks later. Fast forward two years and after two successive promotions, Rangers, managed by Ally McCoist, now stand on the brink of a return to the Scottish Premier League - back where they belong.

In what is arguably the strongest looking Scottish Championship for years, read the dramatic season long thoughts of Rangers captain McCulloch, as he reveals behind the scenes banter, tactics and everyday life in modern Scottish football, as a soccer super weight begins to find its feet once more.

If you want to know what really goes on in a football dressing room and if you want to hear the thoughts of one of Scottish football's most respected and applauded figures then Rangers' Rise: A Captain's Story is an unmissable read about an unforgettable period in Rangers' history.
