The "Oxford Literacy Web" is a literacy programme designed to guide schools successfully through the primary years.

Fitting the requirements of the National Literacy Strategy, National Curriculum in England and Wales, English Language 5-14 in Scotland, and Common Curriculum in Northern Ireland, the Web guides pupils through the core skills associated with learning to read and write with a diverse range of literary styles within the genres of fiction, non-fiction, rhymes, language and poetry.

These "Writing" workbooks meet the need for a greater focus on core writing skills, including planning and structure, and a range of essential sentence and word level skills, Each workbook is divided into two sections: non-fiction and fiction, with each section containing a model text, comprehension questions, text-level work on structure; and sentence- and word-level work.

There is practice on revising and editing text and two writing ideas, with planning and writing frames.

Each workbook also has a revision/consolidation activity, an extension activity for differentiation and an assessment chart. The books are suitable for independent work, assessing children's progress, extra practice of core skills, and homework.

They can be used alongside "Launch into Literacy" or as a stand-alone resource.

The pack of six includes a four-page teaching notes booklet and the class pack of 30 includes five four-page booklets.
