Slightly Dotty is a coming-of-age memoir. She recalls her time as a student nurse, and the years that follow.

Dotty takes us through her awakening and innovation from that time.

Every memory brings to life heartache or humour. Sometimes deep sadness is witnessed, and Dotty begins to develop a graceful understanding.

She identifies and explores the complexity of people and their lives.

She displays her demeaner, attitude and disposition, as she travels through her career. Dotty meets people who want to die and don't. People who want to live and don't. She questions the attitudes of the times, and she consciously chooses whom she will follow and whose vantage point she will adopt. She moves from an era where technology was unavailable, to current times where nurses spend their working lives tapping a computer keyboard and listening to the instruction of the satellite navigation instead of reading a map.
